Drunken wife ruined my MINIs interior
Well the title pretty much sums it up. I volunteered to be the Designated Driver for the night & to thank me my wife pukes all over the inside of the car. For an hour.
After hosing her off and getting her to bed I scraped up the worst of it. She was decent enough to give it a real college try at cleaning the next morning. Several hours of scrubbing later it looked a lot better but the next day the smell still lingers.
I know there are some hardcore interior people here and I'm begging for some advice on how to get rid of this smell! It was piled on my leatherette seats & the liquid soaked into the carpet. It sprayed on every plastic surface from front to back. I even found bits on the headliner…
God this sucks…

Small steam cleaner works (I'm a frequent DD). Maybe not on the headliner or leatherette though. As for the smell, if the steamcleaner doesn't get rid of it, I just leave the car locked up with a few dryer sheets (bounce) on the floor and within a few days, the car smells like clean laundry.

Yes, this really is heading in the wrong direction, but funny...
Steam cleaning sounds like its worth a shot.
...and as for Nature's Miracle--Im not so sure. Does that guy who yells in all his ads (the OxyClean guy) sell it? I want some if that's the case.
And two racing seats will cost you a lot, but it's economic stimulus time
(and we come back to blow.)

To do it right, pull your seats, cause the smell will linger in every nook and crevice...think seat belt clip receptacles...under the rails etc..
Baking Soda will help deodorize it as well. Sprinkled on the carpet and stored under the seats for awhile..as long as it doesn't spill all over, lol.
A commercial hot water extractor is a great thing to have to get rid of it deep in the fabrics.

The results of a spit take.
Trust me on this one. The Nature's Miracle has taken care of two toddlers and two 85 lbs dogs that thought the interior of an SUV was a popular accident playground. This stuff is found in most pet stores. It is not hawked like Oxyclean.
Richard is right about the pull and clean, but, I really recommend you use this stuff as it does not mask or neutralize the organic bacteria that cause the smell. It eats the stuff. Once gone it disappears since it no longer has a food source. Damn interesting solution.

An extractor is something that all detailers, especially those that do a lot of interiors have in their toolset. It has a water reservoir that gets heated to 200 degrees. It shoot water into fabrics to loosen dirt and oils and contaminants, and immediately it's sucked back in with a very high powered wet/vac that leaves the fabric mostly dry.
It's like a steam cleaner and wet/vac combined. The one I have cost me $800.

I have a Bissel Green Machine upholstery cleaner...like a miniature carpet shampoo machine. I have used it many times in the car for various spills and it works great. I use hot water in the holding tank mixed with the carpet/upholstery cleaner mix....pull the trigger to spray, scrub with the brush on the wand, then suck it out. They don't cost all that much and I have used it for every part of the house. With a Black Lab and a Weimaraner, I've gotten my money's worth out of it many times over for the car and the furniture. They are less than $100 I think.
Like they said above, you will probably want to take the seats out to get access to all the spots.
Good luck.

Still, I'm sure you'll tell us why not.
