Just stick it right on, haha. It's perfect width. You run your thumbnail under it to tuck it in below the silver, and smooth it down on top and it lays down perfect. Then you can run your thumbnail along the top edge of the silver to make the groove where the beltline meets the trim.
I took the grille pic soon after painting it, thats why it doesn't look very smooth.
Thanks guys!..and no springs for me . I already scrape in my driveway and I need to be able to run kayak shuttles and get to mountain bike trail heads. (Which usually involve dirt roads)
I am thinking of plasi dipping my chrome bumper peices. I dont like them and i dont have enough money to get an aero kit yet. So the Aero grills and plasti dip might be the solution. Has anyone done this?
I love it. It works perfect with my dark wheels, black roof, and rack. A little window tint and I will be set. Black out mods look good in most cases, and I think it appeals more to the younger crowd. My guess is those who don't like it are from the generation where chrome was the only way to go. I'm 18 and it works for me.

What about the exhaust pipe? Will plasti-dip hold up to the heat?

I don't think so. However, I read in the past couple days of someone who had used another product on their exhausts. Try searching on black out exhaust.

Good luck.
I've been using VHT high temp paint for these type of applications for years with great results. This was VHT falt black. I will try to get a closer shot later today .

I took these shots today for you . This is with the VHT high temp flat black .
I used Krylon high temp BBQ spray paint from the Home Depot at about 5 bucks a can on my other cars exhaust and have had zero issues, and that is for over 35,000 miles ago.
Here are my pics! Blacked out door handles, gas cap, side markers, tints, grill...beltline!
I bought the fog black out stickers from Voltage, (http://www.voltageproductsonline.com/bumperdecals.html) but wasn't successful trying to install them... is anyone around the are familiar with this and can help? Thanks!
i will get pics of mine here shortly, love what everyone has done so far. the electrical tape on the beltline is not hard, but for the r53 the tape is too wide and must be trimmed down, also you must allow a little extra on the ends for shrinkage from the heat. i removed my complete beltline and just flat black painted it. the 2nd gen cars have a different beltline than the 1st gens, you cannot remove the chrome on the 1st gen, it either must be taped, plasti dipped or painted. i also removed the door handles and painted them. plasti dipped the headlight rings, the middle grill surround, the mirror caps in red, the gas cap and the scuttles. did the joey mod to the headlights, opened up the taillights and dechromed with denatured alcohol, so there is zero chrome on the car except for the exhaust tips.
hey folks i'm in the market for black headlight rings... did those of you who purchased them from aesthetic creations or vinyl styles trade in your original rings for the blacked out ones? or did you buy ones that you can stick onto your original rings?

I got the vinyl styles from Lyle. He was at the Dragon so he pulled my OEM and put the black ones on. No core this way, he did the work and they look great.
Two years later an the black rings look as good as day one.
