Painted "rollcage"
I recently finished a project with my dad painting the rollcage look-alike pieces in my mini.
I also removed the Cooper S badge from the trunk, blacked out the S, and put it on the front bumper where the hood latch is located.
I am pleased with the results.

I used this red and clear coat of the same brand. It is not a perfect match, but close enough for the location.
My Dad and I did all the sanding, painting, and reconstruction of the door panels. To get the door pieces off the door panel you have to remove some melted plastic rivet things. Then we used plastic epoxy to put it all back together.

After the door panel is off the door, you have to melt or break a bunch of plastic rivet-like things. That allows you to remove the "rollcage" piece. After you're all done painting you have to figure out some way to secure the "rollcage" piece back to the door panel. I used a couple tubes of plastic epoxy. It's not the best, but has held up so far. It's definitely a project, but I think it's well worth it.
