Interior/Exterior Rear Fog Switch Part Number

NOTE: this part is only correct if you want the "engine control" switch to be labelled DSC, and if you need the front fog switch too (of course - you can buy the front fog switch even if you don't have front fogs, like my car had a rear fog switch that did nothing for 7 months).
If you have the ASC+T instead, I think you need 61 31 6 917 989.
If you don't have ASC or DSC, you will need another different part, and be left with a gap still!

I have to add the part number I gave is the one for a car with the DSC and Front Fogs, where you want to add the Rear Fog switch so it's a full bank of toggles!
I do not want that missing tooth look in my toggle switch bank! I'm having my dealer order this new switch bank and do the rear fog programming before I pick up my car!
I'm sorry I didn't ask about the price. I just know I do not want the missing toggle so if it's $70-$100 I'll pay for it just so the dash looks good.

>>60 bucks is steep just for an extra switch in the dash, wat if he wave the fogs programmed w/ the brakes, and we just want the little swtich?? 60 bucks... whoa...
Well your best bet it to either comb the local radio shack to find the closest look or... buddy up to one of us who bought the extra pannel because now we have 5 extras

Received our switch from Brian at ClassicMini of Mentor on Friday and installed it in 20 minutes this morning (Sat). Easy with few "bumps" - only the two rings around the switches at the top of the dash (hazard and other). Pull those off before you try to pull the bottom of the fascia panel forward to release the downtubes.
Now all we need is the programming, which apparently includes the stumble fix.

So, the $100 question is, is the replacement of the bank easy or hard to do? Greta will be at the dealer next week to get the coolant tank replaced. I was going to get my dealer to do the rear fog light upgrade but they want 75 bucks for the bank plus 125 for the installation. Is this an upgrade I could do myself of do I depart with $208 as quoted?
Peace Out
Bonz
Ps. Greta has all bank option but rear fog.

bonz,
Replacing the switch panel is not hard - check out instructions for changing the head unit (stereo) which is similar.
Basically you need to remove the tubes either side of the center console, then undo some screws. The "official" method is to remove all the middle stuff around the handbrake, and free the tubes; the other way is to loosen the moulding around the speedo, and slide the tubes out from under it.
Either way you need some "special" tools - torx bits, for example.
EliteCooper - $60 for the switch panel is a bargain! I paid $120 a year ago (happily, to make the gap disappear - I never then expected the switch to actually function as it does now).
Programming the BC1 which controls the lights has nothing to do with programming the engine computer which may or may not address stumbles and other engine issues.
If you are friends with the techs, you might get them to activate the rear fogs when your switch panel is not fitted - but they won't then be able to test it for you.
Also - when the rear fogs are activated, all the BC1 settings go back to default (eg: your doors might now lock when you drive) ... if you are bothered by this, have them check all your settings before you leave!
