i also just got rid of my front license plate, and was left with the dealer drilled holes. i was debating taking the car to the shop to get the bumper sprayed to cover the ugly plate holes, but found these as a great DIY great workaround from cost of spraying the bumper and time without car from a bodyshop. the paint match was exact to my finish. now no more holes!

Whats th best way to paint the side markers. I don't want to plasti dip them. I want my end result to be mostly blacked out w/ just the red "S" with a thin chrome outline. RIght now the red S is only a decal so i am going to remove that first. Clean and sand the entire thing (minus the S). With the S area still masked off, prime (?) and paint the whole thing black. remove the tape revealing just a chrome S. Maybe after that i will mask the area again and paint that red.

I tried this, since the paint layers so much on a small space, its very hard to peel the tape afterwards, a lot of times it wont be a clean cut, and if it is, theres still a gap in the layer of paint with the chrome.
my suggestion (what i did too) .. paint the whole thing the color you want, then go to astheticcreations and get a "dome S" ... its like 10$ for 3 of em, and you can get it the color you want, then stick it right ontop of the painted scuttle. sticks really well and hasnt come off thru a winter and summer already, and looks OEM.

if you want to go clean sand prime paint then i'd go with krylon for a decent off the shelf brand..
or, you can just pick up some krylon fusion... which is designed to adhere to plastic.. u could even sand it down and use the fusion maybe.. check out the back of the can while you're shopping for paints

instead of painting, order the vinyl overlays from http://www.aestheticreations.net/vin...icstickers.htm

I talked about my painted trim pices but never posted them, so here they are:
JCW scuttles with carriers painted white and gas cap painted white. Unlike those blacking all their chrome away, I like it and think the right amount of it is perfect with Chili Red/White. When I do the JCW Aero kit next year I'm even planning to keep the chrome grill surrounds instead of the glossy black ones that come with the kit.
