The other option if I'm not happy with the look is to go to two double cup holders one for the right and one for the left
Steve also now has that iPhone mount that attaches to the back of the gauges as well, kinda interesting.

Hey JIMINNI, do you have a link to Steve's site, his stuff, etc. The iPhone mount sounds cool. I wonder if he has a Blackberry option...

The shop link is in my sig, but I don't think Steve has updated it yet. I'm sure we can get you a pic though Here is the actual link to Craven, which is what it is. Just remember I believe Steves group buy is still going on.

I wish CravenSpeed would tell me when they get new products. I will have the Blackberry Curve mount in stock in a couple of days. Remember that the CravenSpeed mounts only fit uncovered phones. The group buy goes until the end of this month.

Steve could the dual pod holder be modified to add a peak recall switch in the center section?

I'm not Steve, but if you're handy with a mill that should be feasible. You'd have to hog out a lot of metal from the back side of the pod, which is made out of a chunk of solid aluminum billet. Not a bad idea, really.

No metal to "hog out" since it's open behind. You would just have to drill a hole through about 3/16" thick metal. There is enough space in the cavity in back to mount the switch. Unfortunately, there isn't enough room for the dimmer.

Hey Steve,
Why wouldn't that set up (shown in post 531) have worked for my Blackberry mount?

It's not stable enough. I have another method using the bracket-z and i-bone from Cravenspeed. Including the Blackberry mount it would cost about $100 to do which is a little expensive, but works well and is secure.

BTW, the chrome rings fit fine in the dual pod mount. I believe there was a post earlier in this thread that said they didn't fit. Pictures to come...

Just a quick question, how come the stepper gauges need 12V+ source when ignition is on and one permanent 12V+ source as well? Just curious as my current gauge(other make) only requires the 12V+ when ignition is on.

Paul from Marshall could probably give you a better answer, but I believe the 12V+ directly to the battery is for the recall function. The gauge will work without it if you do not want the peak recall function, or the ability to dim the gauge lighting. The gauge lighting is dimmed via varying the voltage to the 12V+ (Ignition) switched signal. When this voltage drops (for dimming) it does not provide enough voltage to power the gauge.

Thanks rjb. I am trying to avoid anymore wiring than I would have to. I will not be using the dimming feature or the recall function. So I was just wondering if I could leave that out altogether. I guess I will wait for Paul or Steve to confirm.

PS. The gauges are awesome in appearance!

Just changed up my setup. Went to a dual gauge setup on the left side, used two single pod's and a "y" connector, I like it better than the dual pod setup. On the right side I installed my Scangauge with Cravens new Scangauge bracket. I think it came out nice?

Looks great. I have been thinking about getting this setup. Can you comment a bit more on the Craven Speed Scangauge bracket?

Thanks. It has a long arm that mounts to the Craven bracket. Then you bolt on the Scangauge bracket, it is made specifically for the Scangauge. It is very well made I might add a gauge above the scangauge eventually.

You could always put a phone or glass case holder

If you don't require lighting adjustment or peak recall, you can just connect the light lead and power lead to the same 12V switched power source.

So, December was a nightmare at work and I failed to keep up with this thread. Any chance this buy can be extended by "popular demand"? ;-)

Thx.
