inside the door handles, my right inside handle (silver) is getting scratches and the paint is coming loose, I dont know if I can ask for garanty, no one on my car has ever use rings that can scratch the paint the only person uses that seat is my wife and is very careful.

Should I ask for garanty do you think will work, Im sure that is happening to other minis.

If it is just scratched, they may claim that it is wear. If the paint is coming loose - peeling off, they should replace under warantee. We have had the door panels and posts by on the center console replaced twice on our '02

My silver door trim is being replaced under warranty

My silver door pull tubes are being replaced under warranty because of paint failure. The tech advisor said this was happening on some Z4s, too. Apparently there may be a heat-related issue.

This is my MINI's second Texas summer and while the paint was susceptible to slight scratching, its now very, very soft and you can remove a chunk just by touching it with your fingernail. Took it to Moritz MINI today and was taken care of with typical friendliness and professionalism. ASKMINI officially knew nothing of this problem when I called today.

Yeah, the silver door handles were also replaced under warranty in our '02 MINI. My '04 MCS has Anthracite interior trim and it is of much higher quality and durability compared to the Silver trim.

I have the same problem. It is the pull tubes on the door, as well as the posts on the sides of the radio and ac controls. And some other little things like the mirror controls are the same way. I dont know why they didn't just spray clear over them like the rest of the interior. I plan on painting all that stuff to match my car soon anyways though. But I haven't even bothered complaining to the dealer. Another thing that annoys me is the e-brake boot. I've noticed it on other peoples' cars as well. It has a tear where that bolt sticks out a bit. Anyone else?
