Interior/Exterior Boost Gauge-Mech vs. Elect?
#2
Hrmm. I have heard both. I would this a Mechanical one would be more accurate but that might be in regards to oil pressure.
I know I had an electrical oil pressure gauge and it was always way off. At one point I went with a Mechanical and got a much more accurate reading but you can risk a mess if the line going in the cabin is damaged.
Guess I did not help though as I have not had experience with Electrical boost gauges.
Sorry and hope someone can help you.

I've had both mechanical and electric boost gauges. I prefer the electric one as mine are mounted on a gauge pod beside the tach and wanted less wiring/hoses going from the engine bay to the gauge. Aside from that, I wanted one that matched my interior lighting better and was easily visible in daytime as well. Plus it has a pretty cool opening sequence.
Mine are made by Prosport. Do a google search for them and look at their product page for more info and options.

Price! $$$ electric gauges generally cost more, where as you can go to harbor freight and pick up a boost gauge for like $15... thats my 2 cents

As far as that is concerned, when it comes to a boost gauge consistancy is more important than accuracy (unless you're just trying to show off or something) it's more about being able to see if there's a change in boost or vacuum from normal than wheather your gauge is 1/2 a lb off or not. Just find one you like the look of.
