i've heard its worked well as a seat on a daily driven motorcycle that is parked in sun showers, and florida sun.
i've been looking into a proper exterior dry carbon with adhesive backing.
i found it- just need to find out where to get smaller than wholesale orders.
i'll keep you guys updated. i plan/want to cap my roof with it.

3- piece dash removal how to?
jbell:
That's a cool look, and I happen to have 3 yds of carbon fabric in my garage...
Is there a how to on removing the 3-piece dash? A quick search only revealed removal of the older 5-piece dash, which works totally differently to the 3-piece (removing the upper padded dash is out of the question on the later models...)
TIA.

trial and error, wasted one vent shaped piece about 8"x8". Basically you make a K shaped cut started at the upper corner where the vent is NOT the deepest. gotta make sure you don't cut where it wraps onto the deeper lip parts.
in the end, it took 16 fingers jammed in there (no tumbs) to just hold it stretched in place. not that big of a deal.
its the biggest stretch. its been 36 hours now, spent a good day in the 90 degree sun. jet black car... had to be 120 inside it.
seems to be holding great.
if it slips, i'll just line that area with another piece of fabric, and not do the stretch. a small piece of black suede would look nice inside the curve there.

OK I see. I guess since the 5 piece has the air vents on separate panels, it wouldnt be so bad to do it that way.
I have a custom 1 piece dash tho so I might just have to leave them black in there or use a separate piece of fabric.

shouldn't be any harder to pull it off.
