My solution to a crappy armrest

I was detailing my interior the other week and finally got fed up with the creaky flimsy oem armrest. So I tore the whole assembly apart. It turns out that under all the ugly plastic is a pretty nice cast aluminum piece. So after some smoothing and some paint I have an armrest that doesn't creak and doesn't flop open all the time. I will be adding a storage compartment in the near future. I am pretty pleased the aluminum armrest now matches my shiftknob. Now I just need the brushed aluminum interior panels to complete the look.
