How To Install a Center Console Organizer
Hi all. Sorry if this is a newbie question. I searched the forums for an answer before posting.
I have a 2003 Mini Cooper (R50) and I recently purchased this Center Console Organizer.
I can see the single "screw" I would need to take out in order to remove the old panel and insert the new organizer in its place. But to my embarrassment I can't figure out how to do it. It seems to be a rivet and not actually a screw with any head on it that I can use my electric screwdriver on. And I'm scared of being too rough on it and end up damaging something.
Does anyone know the proper way to remove (and then re-insert) this screw/rivet so that I can install the organizer? Thanks in advance!

Its a pain.
The way i managed was to:
Remove the single screw up top, pry the old one out.
since the new one is larger, you cant just stuff it in there.
i removed the bolts that hold the center console down, there are 2 under the mirror adjuster and some in the rear by the cupholder iirc.
Undo the torx screws at the top of the tubes now.
this should let you pull the console forward enough to slide the new organizer in there.

Thanks so much for the replies.
I borrowed a tool from a friend that had every imaginable size of hexagonal allen key on it, and with a slender one I was able to remove the single screw without a problem.
It took some patience and some determination, but I was actually able to put the organizer in place without having to move the entire console to make room for it. (something I wanted to avoid)
