Hot center counsel??

Who else has a Whalen shift machine on a Craven Short Shift Kit with metal cover, and high flow header and Cat with JCW exhaust. When it gets above 95 degrees out side the whalen get REAL warm and the craven metal cover to the shift well is easily 100 or so degrees. Is anyone here noticing this getting really hot to th point you make sure your car insurance is paid just in case it spontaneousley combusts. I need any one 's input so thanks in advance.

even with the stock header and cat my Whalen and Craven also get hot sitting in traffic on really hot days too. While not as hot as your's they get warm. I've thought about putting some type of insulation on top of the heat shield in such a way that doesn't cause issues with the shift box.

Yeah it has me concerned to say the least. I am gonna try to raise the adjustable shift lever from the craven shifter to see if that can put some distance between the heat source and in turn cool it down.

I noticed that the center gets pretty darned toasty after upgrading from stock to a RMW header. . .going to try header wrap and see if that helps.

To be candid with you guys I have never had so many issues from what is supposed to be a "street" header that If I run into one more wall from it I will trade it in. NON-stop codes that took $350 worth pseudo fixes and trial and error as well as wait for parts. Not a bad header for the track at all, but waaaay too many problems out of a street set up.

Funny, our race header has been issue free for almost two years
