I too hit a deer and got a VIS CF hood. Then I hit a cat now the bumper is my sacrificial winter.

Good info, we never bothered to weigh the ones we were having built way back in 02. Now the big question is what does a stock hood weigh, without lights etc. to keep the comparison fair ?

32.25lbs (could be ship weight), so looks like the CF saves 10lbs over stock

Worst part seems to be those gaps near the headlights. Other then that they look good (from this distance).

That gap always makes me think the hood isn't fully closed and is common with most every CF hood I've seen so far . That gap as well as the vertical ones by each door were just unacceptable when we were trying to find a supplier years ago . The real caper was when they told us that because of the complex shape they were having to scrap 4 to 5 out of every 10 before they even brought them to us and we were going to have to pay more , essentially because of their incompetence. That was the final straw and we withdrew from the CF hood business.

Randy, that has been my experience too. I have never seen any VIS or Seibon hood with "stock" fitment. It's like any fiberglass or aftermarket body part, they need tons of work to make them fit perfect. It's almost always the body gaps that arent right. They look awesome from 15' but the closer you get the more the fitment becomes evident.

Given that they are designed for race cars you cant really fault them too much, gaps just arent that important for a full on race car or drift car (which is really their core business - at least Seibon's).
