smoked chrome

would you be able to smoke the chrome...mirror caps..headlight rings, grill etc with a tint spray..the sort used for tinting rear lights etc..

thinking of doing this..anybody done it or seen it done?

It wont work for the cheep pepboys tint spray. But a good painter and your money, someone could do a silver metal flake base and shoot a transparent black over the top to get you the look you desire. I love black chrome and it would look really good on BRG/B or a B/B coopers with matching black chrome wheels. Good luck.

about how much would this cost? i'm going to get some tint spray anyway to try it on my rear lights..mainly for the fog lights..although not sure what this will look like with my car being astra black

Actually, funny you have brought this up.....

I made my chrome skuttles look more subdude by applying a few coats of Adheasion promoter.....they look like brushed aluminum now. More of a sheen instead of shine.

I was also considering this stuff: Found in Hobby stores.



It's made by Testors and comes in black tint as well as candy apple red, green and blue.
