Joey mod on 03. need help
So i read through a 100 threads about this and I cant find what I need.
Im doing the "joey mod" i have an 03 and I have heard it is much harder then doing it on 05 and up cars but I cant find out why? Ive done this mod to many other cars and have never had a problem takes about 10 min to do them.
It seems like when I bake the headlights the glue doesnt loossen up and get gooey. I last put them in at 280 degrees F which is very high and for 15 minutes which is very long, on the average car it takes 5 min at 220F.
So whats the deal with these headlights? Is there some kind of screws or tabs that are holding the clear plastic down? because i pryed and pryed and it wouldnt budge and if I use any higher heat or leave them in longer they will probably warp.
So can anyone help me out? What am I overlooking?

The glue on the 02-04 headlights are like cement, it just does not get soft. I did a joey mod on a set of 03, and it took an hour of prying per headlight.. Pain in the ***. I had to get 3 screwdrivers and pry, SLOWLY, with even pressure. I baked the headlights for 10 minutes, pry, bake 10, pry, so on. When I finally did get them apart, putting them back together was even worse. They never fit back correctly, and I had condensation inside afterwards.
If you have halogens, I would just save up and buy a set of 05-06 halogens, and do it on those. I think the results look better anyways. I later bought a set of 05 xenons, and got them apart in 5 min flat. I didn't really even have to use the oven. I just stuck them over my floor heater vent for 10 min. MUCH easier.

There is. Oven/blow dryer, and force. i heard some people used a dremel, might be easier to open up, but it seems like it would be hard to reseal.
