Hood Pins?
Ive seen maybe two threads on this, they werent very informative and pretty old. So I thought Id ask the question again.
Who has hood pins on their hoods? And where did you place them?
Our radiator supports are made of plastic and the hood is on an extreame angle right there, so im not sure how the usual setup would work with our cars.
Any ideas are helpful. Btw I have a carbon fiber hood and would just like some extra safety. I would be using the Aerocatch style too.

looking at the picture of the smaller set above - there are three main parts to each latch
the rubber latch itself
a metal bracket the 'hinge' end of the latch attaches to - this is the fixed end of the latch
a second metal part which is a fork that the 'ball' of the latch pulls over
on the smalls each of these brackets has two holes for screws or bolts. In the picture from my 79 bonnet which is fiberglass - I just drilled holes and used stainless steel hardware (I did use a backing plate for extra strength as these are not 'show' for me, they ARE what holds the front edge of the bonnet)
So if you wanted to mount like on the MINIs shown, you probably just drill down into the bumper (thru the bumper cover) and bolt the hinged end down. Then you figure out your location for the forked end - determining how much stretch you want in the rubber - then drill holes as needed.
Pretty straight forward.
