Recently acquired, painted and installed some orciari cowl scoops. On top of them being a pain to install because of the cramped space there the hardware does not seem to hold them as secure as I would like. Does anyone have ideas on securing them a bit better, they are too expensive to have fly off going down the road.

cowl scoops

You're right about the limited space issue. I had to enlist the aid of a person with tiny hands and wrists to help get the wing nuts tightened. So far, I've only had to re-tighten once. (They've been on for over a year.) Since you've got me thinking about them, I'll be making an inspection today. If needed, I'll apply a drop of Lock-tite to keep them secure. Motor on!
