Interior/Exterior Aftermarket Cruise Control

Mat, welcome to the site!
My suggestion is that you spend some more time behind the wheel before deciding whether or not you want a cruise control. I have it on my MCS, and IMO it's largely worthless. The MINI isn't exactly a "set a speed and stick to it" kind of car. I suppose some may disagree, but my point is that if you don't have it, you won't miss it. And besides, it would be a very expensive add-on given the MINI's lack of a conventional throttle, etc. Adding the OEM system after-the-fact will require if nothing else a new steering wheel...and I've heard quotes of about $600 to upgrade to the MFW. Again, more than I'd at least be willing to pay for a seldom-used feature.

Driving in the cities and high traffic areas, cruise control is useless. However, highway driving on a long trip, it's actually a quite useful feature for me.

I like the cruise control, though I never owned a car with it till I moved the US. I can say the same about AC, actually.
I only use it for long highway trips, and even then it's probably only on about 2/3 of the time. Unless you do a lot of highway driving in non-rush hour situations, it's probably not worth a $600 investment. If you have an MCS, get a pulley installed instead.
