hi every one. new here, I been looking around for a toggle switch for my mini s 06 R52 conv. now with the rear fog light. oh but wait just like every one else.dealer want ur $ in every way. I read the you could get just the switch.I have been looking and belleve me went I tell u. not easy..

 

You need the switch and if you want a new panel with the rear fog icon printed on it.
You must then take the car to the dealer to have it programmed for some $.

Not sure about the 06 but I think later models (convertible only) use the same toggle for both front and rear fogs.

Note the OEM toggle lever is not really the switch. When toggled it just presses the miniature switches already installed and soldered to the circuit board.

Or you could install your own switch under the dash somewhere and wire the rear fog light apart from the computer controlled system.

 

I picked up my rear fog lamp for $25 and the switch kit for $100. They are not programmed yet in the ECU, because I want to add the OEM Alarm and have it all done at the same time.

Not sure on the dealer charge yet, but the install took 2 minutes for the lamp and about 15 minutes for the switch.
