Interior/Exterior Home made Stainless Steel Shift knob for B&M Short Shifter
#1
I am planning on making my own performance oriented Stainless Steel Shift ****. I found that a 2 and 5/16 inch Stainless Steel Hitch ball is similar in size as the stock ****. I am going to have a friend machine the hitch ball so that I can screw it on my newly installed B&M Shifter.
What I am going to do is mahine off the letters that are machined on the top of the hitch ball and then I am thinking of having the 6 speed shift pattern machined into it. I will have the bottom of the hitch machined off and then drilled and tapped to receive the B&M shifter rod.
This looks promising and it will be hefty in weight. This will help me throw the new short shifter with more ease.
The SS hitch ball only cost me $34.
I'll keep you guys posted.
