Joey Mod!

The paint is drying as we speak. The R56 thread with instructions was all I needed. I strongly recommend the 'Oven Method.' Countryman headlights aren't round so you need the whole thing to be soft, not just a little area like you get with a heat gun(I tried). I promise more pics when I'm finished. I am only writing this to keep myself occupied while the paint dries. Here are a couple of the disassembled headlight.

I started at 9:15am, it's now 11:15 and all I have left to do is reassembly!

Excellent, I am sure glad to see a MINI owner taking apart a brand new car.

Here he is!! Grand total of 3.5 hours start to finish with 1 hour of paint dry time in there.

Chrome dusted ambers are in the mail to complete the look.

I don't know why MINI doesn't give this option now... silly.

It looks awesome! Great job!

Q: I see that they are glued? do you apply glue to put them back or use old one?

Could you please post pictures of the whole car after mods?
Which are the next mods?

The glue you see is the sticky stuff you have to soften up when you put them in the oven. The lens and the housing have clips to hold them together, so when I was finished painting, I put them back in the oven for 4 minutes and them clamped them back together. Bezels and Grill are next. No more Chrome. I'll take some good pics after I'm done.

Glue = silicone sealant... you can reuse it or apply new

Nice man!

Good to see someone taking a stab at one of the tougher mods on a Countryman.

Want to be one of the first Countrymans with wrapped rings?

You should paint the bezels to match your body color!

i second the body color bezels. not a whole lot of people do it, but it looks sick on certain colors. I realize you just turned them black, but just keep it in the back of your mind in case you get bored with that look some day (although it does look great :P )

Joey Mod

Anyone in Indiana try the Joey Mod on their Countryman? I would like to but not completely sure if I could pull it off without ruining my headlights!

It's not that difficult, you can do it by yourself. PM me if you want to have someone on call for the process.

is this your car?

@Mojito - Is this your car? I want to get a hood just like that. Do you know where or how to get one? I want my Countryman S to have the hood vent!

Absolutely clean!
