The M7 M-wing

Hello, my name is Paul and I drive a 2004 Mini Cooper S and I am new to this site. Ever since I got my mini I wanted to think of things I could do to the car, so I picked out an exhaust and saved my money to buy it and then I got some other stuff later on which included tinted windows, stereo system, rims, etc. I really want the M7 M-wing to go along with the stuff I already have but im not sure if I should buy it before or after I lower my mini and I was just looking for some other peoples opinions on if itll look nice with having it lowered at the same time. I am currently in the winter season so I didn't want to lower it until spring so if some people could give me their opinions id really appreciate that thanks.

If you're going to get that big a wing, you should balance things out by putting in a splitter in the front. If it were my car and budget is tight, I'd probably do the drop first then get the splitter next and the wing would be last.

I would get the car lowered first.
The wing is more cosmetic than any thing else.
Unless your driveing faster than 70-80mph all the time, the wing is not createing a true down force effect. The same thing with a splitter.
If you are going to spend money for effect, spend it on suspension and handleing items.

M7 has some very nice coilovers for a very reasonable price.
There is a set of used Koni coilovers in the Marketplace.

"Good for what?" is the question.

Is all you want to lower your MINI and add some comfort?

Do you want it to stick to a track like glue?

Also the M7 C-wing looks better =), and don't forget your rear diffusers to finish the race care look.

Also also, Rims go on a 91 Chevy Caprice. Wheels go on a MINI.

I want to go the coilover route and im not really looking at the m-wing for the performance im more looking at it for just the race car type look to make it look alot cooler and more custom.

We had a wing similar to this on our 89 Civic hatch. Going down the front straight we found the drag slowed tha car down 7 MPH. and gave very little down force. (and we made 300 HP at the front wheels).
Added a big splitter up front 6" out from the air dam and went all the way back to the front axle. Significantly balanced out the car and gave us back 3 MPH. that we could carry through T-1 and also helped out in Turns 2 and 3.
