R56 reverse scoop??

So I have been lamenting the melted hood scoop thing and was thinking about the heat shielding options ect.
It seems to make sense to me that it would be more beneficial to do a rally style turbo vent/scoop that pretty much opens the hood above the turbo.

I'm way to lazy to take my scoop off to check if there is any room without cutting to make this work, but if there is space below the scop to make this work, it might be a viable option.

Any thoughts???

Something like this maybe?

I think the problem arises when you park your car and all that heat from driving around has no where to go but up and eventually the scoop starts to warp from getting so hot.

It finally happend to mine and they said they're going to retro-fit it with the heat shielding but that might take away the option of opening it up to cool the engine bay.

Kinda... but I was thinking of an actual opening that allows unrestricted hot air evacuation from the hood ( a hole). Pretty much like the "JDM" style reverse scoops that will suck out the hot air while driving and leave an open void above it while parked. I would find a picture to demostrate this, but I have had 5 Rum and Coke's and cant be f'd. lol

After hearing of all the melting going around, I drilled out ALL of the plastic grille holes on the scoop. It's been 2 years, no problems yet. With all the holes on the grille drilled out, you can really feel the heat pour out of the scoop after a hard run!
