Clo,

The kit will work on both models, and installation is similar for both models, so the same set of instructions will work for both.

Hey all.
I'm all for supporting other MINI enthusiasts and vendors here, but seems as if with a group purchase PILO should be able to match this price as posted on E-Bay for the same item? E-BAY PIAAs
Even with the shipping cost, looks as though this is a better deal.

While that might be a better price, the kit isn't designed specifically for MINI and additional mounting brackets are required. With the extra costs of the brackets, it would be cheaper buying it from Dan @ Pilo.

Dan, is there a way to wire the PIAA kit to come on with high beams and eliminate the need of mounting the switch?

Dan, Is there a way to plan a group buy of toggle switches (to put one in the empty space in our toggle switch panel) for those of us who don't have/get the rear foglights installed? I'd love to have that empty toggle space filled in to work the driving lights!

Hey,

This is not an Apples to Apples Comparison. This is the 540 Light Kit, with out brackets. If you want that, I can match the 185 price, but if you want brackets, the price is 220.

Regarding High Beams, I'm sure that there is a way to wire it. you would just have to find the wires going to the high beam bulb, Splice off of them, and then it would work. But you have to make sure that the wires can support the extra 55 watts of power going through them.

>>and BONUS if you have electric blue.....the blue of the bulb perfectly matches EB MINIs when you look at the reflection of the bulb on the inner cone of the lamp...it's very groovy  To match the blue hue of the aux light, have you considered blue-tint light protection kit from Lamin-X? That will transform all the front lights (parking and fog lights included) to have a blue tint, while providing protection from rocks.

the lights are 55w apiece. Stamped metal black housings with mesh guards.
This has me closer to deciding to go for it. (i have black bonnet stripes on my IB/B)

I'd also like to know procedures here-
will you be paying for all of them while we reimburse you?
(will the kits be sent to you first, then you ship them to us?)

or will we all send a separate checks and we receive the kits direct from PILO?

Thanks for the education Dan. Didn't realize the brackets are 35$, my mistake. I'm Still interested.
Question...Is the wiring set up such that these lights only come on with low-beams? highbeams? or can they be worked independently of the lights?....sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.

His, CHILE RED all over, Madness CAI, Magnaflow exhaust, Helix 15% Pulley & RDR swarbar.

I would think that applying any of those films would cause premature failure of the bulbs. I believe they're designed to disipate heat out of the lens and the film is preventing that.

It's simple to wire them to come on with either low- or high-beams. In stead of using the supplies switch, tap into the headlight of your choice with the relay control and run the power off of the fuse block. This way the headlight is the relay trigger and the power is properly fused. If you insert the switch between the headlight and the relay, you'll have a master switch for when you're tooling around the city and don't want to draw too much attention. This is how the fogs on the WRX are wired and it works great. As long as the master switch is on, the fogs work with the low beams.

What is the difference between the driving lights and the fog lights? I understand that the fogs are for fog, but what is the "physical" difference?

The Man difference is there Display Radius.

Driving Lights keep the beam focused at about a 15 degree spread in front of you where the fog lights cover about a 95 degree spread in front of you.
