I got your e-mail and responded. I honestly do not know when I am going to get them. I am calling other places to get them, but can not guarentee. I feel real bad about this, as I said, I had the stock that I asked to be set aside for me sold from me, and I can't make good on this deal. If any one wishes to get a refund, I will provide it with no hassle.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan did respond very quickly, and was very nice and agreed to refund my money and did so promptly. I understand it was out of his hands, no big deal, I just opted out. Good luck!

Dan,

I'm not bailing as ~ 2weeks is fine as you've provide that ray of hope. Keep us abreast of progress via this post and/or PM.

Thanks,
SMKKVK

-----------------
>>THere is some hope.. My guess is about 2 weeks. I understand if you want to bail out, I will provide a refund in that case. I do plan to get enough lights to last so, if you still want some later on, if you were part of this group buy, I will honor the price.
>>
>>Again, I apologize, and wish I could do something to get the lights to all of you. I am going down another avenue as we speak, trying to get another source of these lights and get part shipped out.

If I can add my .02....If i were you I'll go with the 510 from PIAA hyper white, they are 4" in dia. and look way better than the 540, why would you want these huge 5' things in the front?. I have them in my car, you can check the pics under Mini talk forum " my JCW Mini"....you won't be disapointed if you buy these lights....just my .02

MINISPIDER,

Took your suggestion and looked at the 510s on your MCS. Appears they are fairly level with the top of the grill and in reasonable proportion to the rest of the car.

Do you like the light pattern thrown out by the 510s? Of course, it's hard to compare with the 540s. What was the 510 kit price with brackets..?

Dan,

Based on this input, "Plan B" appears as a viable option. What are your thoughts? Should we re-quote the 510s and determine dealer inventory availability?

SMKKVK

Thanks MINNISPIDER. Love the two surface mounted gauges adjacent to the speedo. Do you have a thread... that explains the details behind this install as I would find this more pleasing than the gauge pod attached to the tach as the tach is already difficult to read dependent on wheel and seat positions? What are the four gauges monitoring?

The light pattern is well balanced, I can light up the entire road in front of me, and I tell you; since I installed these lights I don't use my regular headlights ,I just put my PIAA'S, fogs, and side markers and that's all I need ...these things are f...ing powerful, and super white. I'll take more pics tomorrow,so you guys can see the installation ,which it came out pretty clean and no wires are visible at all....you won't regret getting the 510"s...and no this is not a pitching sale, I'm just commenting on something I have installed in my car...good luck, and pics coming tomorrow!

Sorry...I forgot, the brackets, I got them from classic mini $43 shipping included ...I'm sorry if I offend some, but I just saw the 540 installed, and these things are huge for such a small area (grill),just forgive me if I offend people but is just my dumb opinion.

Plan B is a viable option. Pricing is about the same because it's not technically a Kit, so the pricing is not as good as the "540 Kit" (It Actually cost more for me) I will honor the 220 price listed, just let me know if you are interested. I know that they have the 510's in stock (last time I talked to them, and are waiting on brackets (made at piaa, waiting on wireing from whatI heard last week. I will contact my dealer tomorrow to get the latest.

Thanks,
Dan

PIAA 540 Kit Update:

Talked directly with customer service today at PIAA. The story is that everything comes from Japan for the kit, except the bracket. All parts are available for the kits, except the lamps - go figure as it's their core compentency. Apparently we have overwhelmed their forecast for MINI 5430 kits.

The lamps will be available in sometime in March. By the end of March, all back-orders will be fill to their distriubtors on a first order, first ship basis.

Dan,

If you knew where our group buy with your distributor stood in-line, then you'd have a better idea upon delivery.

X2,

Agree. Nothing personal, just business. Went to the URL: the bracket kit at $44.99 and the lamp kit at $ 179.99 for a total w/o shipping of $224.98.

Is the $215 price from Maylon a reduction from $224.98? Shipping included?

Thanks,
SMKKVK

X2,

Thanks for navigation tip. Quite the price reduction from $299.95 to $199.99 for the 5430 kit.
