Its easy to paint anything with Krylon. It doesn't come out flawless in just normal atmosphere though. I wouldn't trust myself with a piece of interior I have to look at everyday. I would probably end up repainting it various times because one little bit of grain. We used to paint stuff with rattle cans in our Industrial Design classes but even then we used paint booths to avoid imperfections. Rohicks, I'm glad you have a new Mini because that interior on your Neon looked terrible. Way too much paint, a little more restraint. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a d!@<, just being honest.

6speedwtneed, looks great so far. When you do the front dash parts definitely post pics.

I like the look. There's a HUGE different between painting some accent trim pieces and the monstrosity on page 1. painting and entire interior is indeed retarded. Painting trim pieces that are already painted/color molded to begin with is not a big deal. I painted the door and dash trims on my MkV Rabbit and MkV GTI (white, as a matter of fact) and it was not hard to take care of nor did I ever tire of it. Hell, I painted every custom fabricated part in the back of my old Passat wagon and even THAT wasn't hard to take care of.

The takeaway is, like most things in life, painting interior parts is fine...in moderation.

I'm thinking of painting some bits on the inside of my MINI. I was looking around for people who have also done it. What type of paint did you use and are you still happy with it?I got a custom blend from a local PPG shop that perfectly or nearly perfectly matches my anthracite interior. I'll explain later.

I always use standard automotive paint and clearcoat and have never had a problem.

Matching the blue would have looked even better IMO. Ballsy for sure! Nice job.

It looks pretty good. I dont like how it contrasts with the blue armrest though. You should change the armest to grey or black and also paint the door pull (that the armrest covers) white as well to make it more cohesive.

Looks good, i'll be doing the same thing with BRG in mine, and since I also have the brushed aluminum dash i'm going to do the pieces below the brushes aluminum BRG as well.

Same deal, high quality flexible parts primer, basecoat, clearcoat. All with spray equipment. It's the way to go.

I think it looks awesome and I love the contrast. Just enough white to pop and not overdone at all. When I saw that first pic of all the parts sitting on the floor of the garage I said to myself "that's not a job for me", but it's cool that you had the ***** (and the know how) to do it.

Wow, I think it looks ok. It is your car and if you like it then more power to ya. I think you did a great job with it overall but wouldn't have been my choice. I am not sure I would have taken all of that off to do it so more power to ya

Creative. Not my taste, but if you like it then that's what matters
