Interior/Exterior RSD & Spare Tire Storage

RSD & Spare Tire Storage
Did not like the idea of a can of Slime. So I bought a spare tire.
Did not like the idea of it out in the open. So I created a spare tire "compartment".
It is built in - attached. Yet, can be easily removed for Track Days. Hides the spare tire, plus other goodies. I've always been fascinated with "marrying" wood to metal, like an old panel wagon. This happens to accomplish both: hidden tire & nice poly-coated wood grain.
Completely closed:
First compartment hinged back, open:
2nd compartment opened, hinged back, held up by hook:
A challenging DIY project. Many curves back there to negotiate. Meh,....I like it.

I just fit a VW spare behind my rear seat with the stock luggage cover in place. Slightly easier, but nowhere near as wood looking, er, umm, "good" looking! Nice work though. Only problem for me would be that I occasionally need a rear seat, and putting my race bike on top of beautifully finished wood would likely mar the great work.
Now, to make it truly Mini-like and a little smarty-pants looking, put a faux piano keyboard on one end!
