Ok all I have looked at the installed pictures here on NAM and mine is not even close to right. I have my M2 at 6 inches and my M4 at 18 inches. That lines the rear bar up on the front edge of the rear window. I noticed that all the pictures have both bars lined up above the front window. What am I doing wrong here?

Are you taking your M4 measurement from the center of the front load bar to the center of the rear load bar?

Thank you DiD

Also recheck your M2 measurement. You should be measuring M2 to the centerline of the front load bar.

FIT TIP: IF you have a sunroof on your MINI, when the rack is properly fit, you should be able to open your sunroof and check the position of the front loadbar by looking at the deployed wind deflector. The sunroof wind deflector should line-up pretty nicely with the front load bar (the sunroof wind deflector actually has a little bit of a wedge shape to it, so this isn't an exact standard).

Dave,
How wide did did you place the mounts? I put the Viper mount as wide as it would go.

I put my THULE Velovice bike mounts as close to the Q-Towers as I could get them.

The first time you open the sunroof, I would recommend you do it while standing outside the car. This will allow you to check that the clips holding the trays to the rear load bar are not going to interfer with the sunroof.
