Interior/Exterior My Dream iPhone Mount

But now I've got my eye on the Asus PadFone (Fone, Tablet screen, keyboard & Stylus with mic and speaker). I'm thinking of mounting the Tablet screen up there! (Not!).
Although the power and contection mounts on the Fone are on it's side, so mounting the Fone just above the tach with a Torque full guage app running sounds good to me. Too new to do at present.
I'm with the OP on a pop in mount that is all wired up. No fuss. Pop it in. All hooked up. Pop it out.

Bought this same one on Ebay couple of month ago, didn't use the suckcup on the odometer...kinda looks weird, pls I feel like I would need to remove it all the time.
I use velcro tape on the little vent(in the picture) and the little piece the suction cup goes on.
It never moved a bit so far - location is perfect too(I have my usb cable that runs behind the steering wheel already.
I ll post a picture of that mod.
Love that holder posted by el chupacabra

Attractive For MINI is a company in Wuppertal Germany. They do custom work on MINI's such as full body wraps, custom LED lights, Recaro seats and other custom work.
As it does not show up on their web site I would say that it is probably a one off made piece.

Thanks. I did find this old post regarding that slick iPhone/iPod guage housing mount, but didn't know if something had changed in the last year, as the site is in German:

That would be a real winner if it was avaiable in "all-wired-up" form!
Because of my seating position, I'm leaning towards a horizontal mount centered just above the tach (and just above the top of the steering wheel for my sight line) that can also be twisted vertical when needed. Hopefully in a position that will capture video clips nicely too. Will probably have to go custom by adapting a mount with mini-USB plug...
