>>I take it you ordered the "Custom"...how long did it take?
Now that I think of it, it almost took a month. It got to the point where I forgot I even ordered it.

>>Did you have to do any mods to the adapter or anything else to fit the MOMO brake handle on?
You have to buy the adapter from MOMO, but other than that, the only modification was on the boot. I bought a shifter boot and cut it to the size of the stock boot then I had my grandma sew it to the size of the stock one.

>>How do you like your MOMO pedals? My little @ss feet always slip around, especially when heel/toeing.
This is my 3rd set of pedals and for me, they are the best since there's grip. I bought the polished ones with the MINI logo and it was very hard to clean and some dirt, you just can't get off anymore. It's easier to clean with the MOMO pedals and the grip is the best that I've felt so far.

I don't know what adapter, it was, but it just looked like a rubber piece that I insert into the new ebrake. Reallly easy. Wherever you buy from, just ask them if you need an adapter and they should tell you which one to buy.

As far as my grandma, hahaha, yeah she's busy. She's a professional slot machine player so she's practicing all day. I was lucky to squeeze an appointment in through her rigorous training.

>>Thanks for the link Yellow Coop, I wish they had one for the iPod mini. I hate the case I have now, but it's the only one they offer. I want a hard case like the one I had for my old iPod.
>>

They are coming out with some new cases. Just today, we got the new DLO Jam Jacket for the Mini. It is a clear rubber sleeve. Shows off the color but protects the Mini from damage.

They also sell a 3 pack in colors:

It is nice being an inventory specialist at an Apple Store. I get to see all the new stuff the day it hits the stores.

Referring to removing the Airbag cover on the dashboard:

>>Dave - thanks, I'll try that soon, after I asked the dealer how to take that piece off, they told me that I would literally break my arm since the airbag will go off. I'll risk it and see what happens.

NONSENSE. They don't want to run the risk that you MIGHT hurt yourself using info they gave you & then hold them liable. Scare tactic.

I just removed mine moments ago. No explosions. No fantastic hassles. You do have to remove the dash top- open each door, pull the flat plastic panel away & remove (2) T-25 screws on each side. Dash top lifts right out after that.

Next, remove (3) T-25 screws along the bottom of the airbag cover (even though the cover will lift away from the dash, the piece it is PERMANENTLY connected to at the TOP is secured partially by these 3 screws BELOW.

Finally, up above the cover, you will see a steel bar that is securing 2 nylon straps- these are the straps which keep the cover from flying off & whacking your passenger if the bag goes off. There is a 10mm bolt on each end of the steel bar. Remove these bolts & slide the steel bar free of the nylon straps.

NOW, you can gently pull the entire cover assembly from the dash. No bang.

Background info: My LY/BL '03 MCS suffered the dreaded sunblock paint peel last month. Since MINI won't warranty this issue any longer, and even if they did, they would use pices painted with the same crappy paint, I decided to have my interior painted while I have my exeterior stripes painted. Interior will be LY/BL to match exterior by the end of the week.

I do have a question about your door panels... they look sweet. I'm planning to do the exact opposite of what you've done- I want to paint the inside pieces, and leave the large flat vinyl area alone. Since the oval/handle piece & the speaker grille are melted/hot-glued into place, did you just have the paint shop rip them off & re-glue??? I'm taking mine in tomorrow morning & would like some reassurance that this can be done without great strain or permanent damage...

(I've already pulled the dash panels out & the door panels are off the doors- saves $$ on labor)

Thanks!

Bill, I'm glad that you successfully removed the panels.

As for the door panel, I don't know how Ivan did his, but I did not remove the oval trim. Instead, I painstakingly tapped the panel and reveal only the areas to be painted. To me, it was actually easier than breaking apart the pieces and re-gluing them. This might be better for preserving the integrity of the door panel and avoid the dreaded rattling in the future.
