Doug Whalen is very cool!
He's donated a Shift Machine to us to raffle off at the Wolfe Island Canada MINI Meet.
Tickets will be $5, with proceeds going to a children's hospital.
I'm expecting delivery of my own (purchased at retail) Shift Machine this week. I can't wait. I heard 15 horse at the wheels!!!

>>OK.

>>Here's mine. It is Jonathan Livingston Seagull. If you read the book, you know that it's a story about a bird that wants to fly fast - really fast. (It's more than that, of course I know... but for here, that's what it is.)

>>Sappy, I know. Elegant, classy, meaningful. I think so.

it's good to be unique, thats all that matters.

The Whalen is removable and the stock one is can be reinstalled (just smack the stock **** straight down on the shaft...do NOT twist it!).
The real question is that once you have an aftermarket **** on your MINI why would you EVER go back?!?!?!?!. Well I guess I could see this if you are selling the vehicle and wish to retain your ****

Question about my whalen ****............
Got it today and put it on my B&M short shifter and I like the way it feels. However, it doesn't securely lock into place.......and with little effort I can pull it right off. I pulled the locking cylinder up, pushed the **** down all the way and released the lock. It seems like the locking cylinder should to go down further, but can't. I can also spin the **** around........is this the way it's supposed to be?

Doug & Dan.......thanks for your responses. I had to do some heavy hitting and at first it didn't work, but finally it did the trick. I knew the locking cylinder didn't have far to go because when I pushed down hard the **** wouldn't spin any more. It's locked in, doesn't spin any more......and I'm thrilled! How great that I was able to solve this problem so quickly. Thanks again!

Oh, an opportunity to post my pictures again!
My custom designed Whalen. Thanks once again Doug. It's still my favorite part of the car after a year!
