Interior/Exterior Chrome Interior
#2
Try this link for the chrome aftermarket pieces. They look great, but they're expensive! I heard that MINI will offer a retrofit kit which will have all the chrome interior pieces from the new Cabrio- I'm waiting for that to come out, and hoping it will be cheaper then the aftermarket alternatives...

Those pedals are aftermarket, and you can buy them through CTD-Germany here:

This is my car. Glad you guys liked it. I painted the interior dash to match the exterior. BRG/White. The white by the drivers and passenger doors matches the white exterior mirrors and roof. The center dash panel is BRG. I've replaced most of the interior bits with chrome. I had also painted my downtubes to match the exterior BRG. However purchsed the chrome ones to "tie" all the chrome bits together.
The chrome stuff is VERY expensive. I just returned from the NY autoshow and the new MINI convertible had many of the interior chrome bits. Seems MINI will be offering these items as part of there accesories catalog. They did not discuss any prices.
If anyone is interested in color matching the interior with the exterior. I can do this for you by appointment only. Bring the car in a 9 AM pick up a 5PM. Or you can ship the parts to me.

>>That is a unique dash color treatment you have there. BRG and white? Interesting. I never thought of that.
>>I see the two color coin holder and green fade to white door pulls!
>>What will someone think of next??
Thanks, Yes I was going to paint the entire dash BRG. Similar to the PT cruiser look. Now I find out that MINI will be offering '05 models with matching painted dash panels. I however wanted to be a bit more creative. Same concept with the door panels. Figured I'd experiment and If I did'nt like the outcome could always redo. However I like the look. I also painted the ash tray lid BRG with a white and red racing stripe. My exterior has a single white racing stripe with red accents.
Thought it would tie everything together. Hey, "beauty is in eye of beholder", right.
Anyway thanks...I love your dash panels looks awesome. Great idea painting them. The "stick" on panels may be a bit cheesy...

ah, the airbag question. I was extremely paranoid when attempting the airbag panel removal. Visions of the airbag deploying in my face while trying to remove the panel were frightening.
It's not as easy as the other panels. Just be careful. You will have to remove the screws by the doors and the screws above the glove compartment. Then there are two large bolts inside that hold a hinge to the panel. This hinge prohibts the panel from shooting in your passengers face. So the airbag panel is held on by a hinge, be careful with this removal.
Also some advice. Keep a track as to which screw bolt nut and such goes where. It's easier when you have to reassemble.
