I used the same screws that hold in the stock factory insert, plus washers to give them a secure hold on the mesh. I'll see if I can dig up a photo when I get home.

And, if I may ask, what was yht original purpose of the mesh at Home Depot?

I really believe you are on to a great "S" mod

A photo would be great.

Dorky Cheapskate Mods - Gen 2-image-4208851981.jpg
Shrink tubed the shifter shaft after the craven speed shift well cover install. I didn't care for the raw metal shaft.

Nice job on the vinyl wrap. I did the same to my boot handle along with other bits n pieces. But what's wrong with you rear wiper...it looks tired!

Thank you. It was my first attempt at vinyl wrapping. The wiper, didn't think anything. I've never messed with it. Could be just a little off on the shaft.

Cover up Airbag Warnings..

I didn't feel like taking them off, this was much faster. The vinyl cost about $5 with free shipping from ebay,

Wanted to do something this weekend, and none of the "fun" things I've ordered have arrived, soooo...

Don't know if I will keep them or not yet, but I installed some 12" flexible LEDs in the gap between the bonnet and bumper for a cheapo faux Audi-ish DRL look...
Wired into the parking lights behind the wheel wells.
Cost = $20 (PepBoys)
Time = 1 hour

I agree. However, I'm not sure how I feel about LED DRLs these days. Seems every car manufacturer from Audi to KIA to Tesla are now using them.

For 20 bucks I had to try. Believe me I have mixed feelings about it myself.

I wanted the LED parking/fog lights actually but the cost seems too high for how little they're actually used.

I ordered LEDs for the parking lights on my 2012 base. I like them a lot and they are bright. They also contain the capacitor so they don't set off the dash with warning lights. Curious ......these don't set off a dash light? Even though they are wired into your parking lights?

They won't set off the dash warnings because the parking lights are still causing a large enough load for that not to happen.

You need to put LED's in the hood scoop. That would be cool, Michael Knight!

Changed Parking lights- 194 white Canbus LEDs from E-bay. 5 elements, plug right in.. No warning light. Just a few bucks. Got 4 of them free shipping. Did the rear tag lights too. Takes all of 1 min to change the bulb.

1 st pic - Passenger side is the stock w5w bulb, drivers is LED.

2nd pic - all LED front end (minus HIDs and Fogs..).

Very happy with the light color.. Looks like a much brighter (whiter) light.

One LED unit contained 5 light elements.

They are installed as a standard w5w/194 bulb. No special stuff needed.

http://bit.ly/13FXzlo was the seller /auction on e-bay.
