"Custom" Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel

I was looking for 3 spoked steering wheels to replace my ugly r53 2 spoked one on ebay when I ran into this extremely beautiful custom steering wheel:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Cooper-...-/111003704420

It can be yours for the low price of $1,929!!!!!

But seriously, this thing is cool. Makes me wonder why mini or and other company hasn't done something like this yet.

You can get those for less than half from Battle Performance in the UK.

Is that for a R53? I'd LOVE this steering wheel in my GP. My knees always hit the steering wheel when I'm driving. Also, is there anyway to mod it so that the steering wheel is closer to the chest? I have long legs, so my seat is adjusted back, but the R53 doesn't have a telescopic steering wheel like the R56 :(

It looks like this is for the r56. The little slot in the middle is a straight rectangle. In order for it to fit the r53, it needs to be curving down (like a frowning smiley).

Here's the tutorial that's inspired me.

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...ring_Wheel.htm

I actually prefer the design of the really expensive one rather than the Battle Performance. Seems like it has all the curves in all the right places

It's a shame that it's so expensive. If I had a really great job, I'd hand them a crap oem 3 spoke that'd fit my r53 that I'd buy on ebay and have them make one for me
