I had the dealer install the bonnet stripes on my MCS, and I am a bit unhappy with them. the first time they did the stripes they gouged them and had to redo them. Both sets are not the full length of the bonnet. There is about a 1/4 inch of space between the stripe and the grill, and the same amount missing near the cowl.

Did anyone get the stripes from the manufacturer this way? I've seen pictures of nice stripes that go all the way and wondered if it was painted or decals.... And how much.

The factory stripes don't reach all the way to the grill. That's just how they are designed. At least that's how the factory stripes on my MCS were.

If you want the stripes to reach all the way to the grill you have to go aftermarket.

Zip, zilch, nada. I bought my MCS with the Sport package and was told I could bring it back anytime to have the stripes put on. So I did.... after 8k miles. Had to be sure ya know?

Not big into paint shops around here. Got your usual suspects like Maaco, but not sure who has a good reputation or prices or even if they do that type of thing. Will look into it though. Thanks.

I say 8k miles, but that does not give a good indication of time. I bought my MCS in November of 2003, and had the stripes installed in February I believe.

If you still have the original window sticker showing which packages the car had, I bet you can get them free. Or even without em. Talk to you sales person.

You should have no trouble. Probably won't even have to get your salesperson to help ya.

Don't ask, tell.

"I'd like the bonnet stripes that were included in my Sports package installed please. Thank you."

I looked for someone that paints flames on vehicles and went and talked to him, looked at his work, and he does a great job. If you want something painted on that's the way to go.

I am going to have him paint something very different and radical on my MCS.

When it is done I will post it here.

Earl
