Or you could come down for the Hudson Valley Run on April 27th, If I remember correctly some folks from NH,MA&PA come down for this run, lots of fun.

I want to try and get some clarification on the Cravenspeed shifter, I understand it does shorten the throw also shortens the height that's great, but what if someone say my wife wants a shorter throw but not a shorter (height wise) shifter. So question is if you leave it at stock height will it shorten the throw? And if so by how much if anyone can shed some light on this for me that be great thanks guys. Oh almost forgot will the cravenspeed need a shifter assembly box cover like the NM shifter or any modification to the stochastic one?
(Also just I case anyone is wondering I did search and read this is the only thing I couldn't find info on clearly.)

That's a good question, and the answer is, unfortunately, no. The height and throw are adjusted together, not independently. The total movement is about 1 inch up and down. The change is height is not nearly as noticeable as the change to the throw.

As to the box cover, no one need one at all, IMHO. We have been running shifters without any cover on the bottom of the box up here in Portland on daily driven MINI's since 2006. Never had a single issue through tons of rain, a bit of snow and the gravel they put down for traction. So, while a modified box cover will fit with our shifter, I would keep your cash.

Sounds great just what I was looking for thanks for clearing that up Kellen. One last thing how much would you say the throw is shorten percentage wise when lowered the full one inch and I know it shortens it front to back does it also reduce the side to side say from first to third and so on.

Yes, the total change in throw is 42%.

I really liked the Craven SSK while I had it and will say though that at the lowest point, the throws can be kinda notchy and tight, and didn't feel as smooth going into gears, but adjust it a bit higher and you'll be fine. It's still short and it really is the best SSK out there besides going ***** to the walls for a CAE Ultrashifter.

That is why I think that the adjustability is important. The shifter is really all about feel, with this one you can set it to a spot where is feels right to you. That spot is different for everyone.

I have no problem with my ebay shifter, it does a great job and the throw/height is perfect.

Glad it works well for you. I think you'd be surprised at how much a small change to it could make, and I wonder if, given the option, you would set our to the same 'perfect' throw from your eBay shifter.

Just my opinion, thanks for offering yours.

I wouldn't mind having your short shifter, it actually looks like a good quality product. The only reason i went with the ebay shifter was primarily because of cost. I was a little weary at first but after installing it i was quite surprised.

Listen, anything is better than the stock shifter lol

I certainly can't compete with eBay on cost until after we outsourced out stuff overseas, which should happen...never.

Minibx, that looks awesome. I wasn't able to make it either because I was doing suspension work to the mini that day (I replaced the lower control arm bushings and I installed my coilovers/caber plates).

Next year I'll roll out

Yeah man it was a lot of fun, there will be a Sunrise run in July I think, that's a lot if fun too, bunch of MINIs motoring around Manhattan early morning with no traffic or less than usual at least.

That's a bit of work LCA is not an easy task.

Nice, I could probably make that
"not an easy task" is an understatement. I got the old bushing/sleeve out using nothing more than a little sledge hammer, flathead, airhammer, chisel set. both sides took me 4 hours combined. I was sore for the next couple days though lol

You don't need to, after thirty thousand miles of use the shifter quality and design is the best in the market and the best mod on my R56...
