RE: Seat removal + airbag light

Hi everyone, i will soon be putting aftermarket seats in my car and i do not want the SRS light being on. Does anyone know of a way around this?

Not sure on your dash but when I messed up and forgot to plug my seat back in, not only did I have airbag light on speedo and seatbelt light, I had the message where I display MPH too, really annoying.

Thank you, I am going to check the resistance of the stock seat airbags and see if i can get a resistor to match it and trick the srs system to thinking there is an air bag there and just go from there.

Plan B will be that tool.

I just upgraded my 2 spoke steering wheel for the 3 spoke and I found that you have to disconnect the battery for at least 15 minutes prior to the procedure. I assume the same goes for the seats because they too are part of the SRS system.

Also I don't know what year is your Mini, but there is a recent recall of R53 starting on 2005 and up regarding front passenger seat SRS problems.
