Removing dash trim panel help please.

Hi all,

Trying to remove the dash trim panel from the secret compartment is just not going well so I am hoping some has some suggestions. This is a 2013 Cooper. There are 2 youtube videos that talk about removing this piece but neither actually show it. I feel like the plastic is going to snap into pieces and I guess I am not getting how to get the panel loose from the clips. Does anyone have a video that actually shows the process?

Thanks

Come on guys....I know soooo many of you have done this. Someone has to have some thoughts. I know this is probably so simple to those of you who mod everything on your car but consider the first time you tried to tear off a piece of you beloved car....anyone?

Thanks

Damn. I'm trying to do the same thing. Remove and replace the secret compartment trim.

Step 1 is easy. Remove two torx screws.
Step 2: Pull and pry until something breaks.

I'll keep trying to figure it out and let you know what I come up with.....

Back side of R56 secret compartment lid. There are 3 tabs along the top.

I think I did it once. If I remember correctly (?) you can use two flat screwdrivers or better yet plastic tools to 'pop' it out.
