Interior/Exterior Tint

Tint
Im getting my back windows tinted on monday but haven't settled on a percentage yet. Does anybody know what the factory tint percentage? I'm going after a factory(ish) look. I'm sorta stuck between 20 and 35, does anybody have pictures of just the back windows tinted in these percentages?
I kinda dig the way the GP is tinted, which looks about 20% to me, but not sure how it would look on my pepper white. Does anybody have any input (both from an aesthetic and visibility perspective) to steer me in one direction vs the other?

I'm up in Ontario so heat isn't too much of an issue. Heck, I've made it through the past 2 summers with no tint at all so anything would be an improvement!
I'm mostly concerned with what looks best (I dont like the opaque look, I like the way factory tint looks on most vehicles because it still allows you to see through it somewhat) and I dont want anything that it going to give me poor visibility at night. Just dont know what percentage fits the bill and would look best on my car.

Check my garage on here...I have 20 rear 35 front and visibility is fine. I too was worried about not being able to see well but no issues at all! One benefit is no longer having to switch my rearview mirror (spoiled by last car having autodim). If you are to be pulled over just put both front windows down.

If I were doing all my windows I would definitely be doing the 20 rear 35 front like many here have done. My mini is just a summer car though, and the vast majority of the time I'm driving with my windows down so I don't really care to have them tinted, plus its cheaper this way.
I guess my only concern is that if I go 20 it might look kinda silly because of the amount of contrast between the front and rear, although it does look good (to me at least) on the GP.
I think this looks decent. What % is this in the back? 35?

I have 20% all around:
Andy: the last pic you posted...probably has 20% in the back, 35% in the front. Those are the legal specs here in FL, but personally I didn't like the look with 2 different gradients of tint, so I went 20% all around.
Per the installer and other local MINI drivers la policia won't hassle you for 20% tint alone, but it's a personal decision. I found visibility to only be an issue at night if I have to close the windows & limo tinted sunroof, but that's only really in my residential neighborhood where street lights are sparsely placed. I just have to use a little more care when backing out of my driveway or leaving a stop sign (we have lots of bicyclists who ride at night with no lights whatsoever) but I don't think it's dangerously dark.
IMHO get the same gradient tint all around. The uniform look is just cleaner, but it's totally subjective.

Think the tint looks darker on a PW MINI, even though it could be the same on any other MINI. I have seen people with lighter tint for legal purposes then add the MINI rear shade, that some people don't know about. or just add them and no tint at all. They are for the Hardtops. The Clubman has its own set also. In the F56 they did the stylized ones with graphics. You can see out and it gives you shade, which they can be removed very easy. Comes with a storage pouch.

Thanks for all the pics guys. ECS, you're right that tint looks darker on PW. This is 35% according to the owner.
I'm kinda leaning towards 35%. I just think that that if I have no tint on the front and 20% in the back it just might be too sharp a contrast and look silly, especially with my colour.

It must be an angle thing. It is pepper white. I will post one next to my white z3 and you should be able to see the difference.

I have never tinting a car before and I see that there is Clear Tinting now. I am looking for Heat Reduction mainly. I also have a Sunroof. Do I go with 3M Crystalline 70 or 90 or Llumar Air 80 or is some other brand or degree. And what price should it cost to have install]Please educate me; this is all new to me. Any links and advise would help.

Here's a chart comparing the heat rejection of ceramic (pinnacle), metallic (comfort), dyed (classic), and some of the lighter ones at the bottom.
