Aero Kit Custom Touches

I have been reading for a while that some people did not like the rear “stickers” that come with the aero kit. I was also one of those people, since the whole kit is a blacked out look, the rear stickers are almost silver until you look close. So this sticker just didn’t work for me. So I went to a local sign shop that does decals for me and had them scan the stickers into their system. For a small price of 25 bucks I got a semi gloss black sticker to put into the deep dished in part for the rear bumpers that were the same size as the ones mini provides. I also added the front fog black out kit that you can buy from mini. I got that from Classic Mini in Ohio. So after a bit of legwork and for under 100 dollars I got the look I was looking for. Take a look to see how it all turned out:

So a few months go by and a customer comes to me and says, “I want the Aero Kit, but I would also like to keep my chrome package I got with the car, can we do that?” so I suggest that we do the same idea’s but with a chrome sticker. We also make up a sticker for around the fogs. After all is said and done I think it turned out well and the customer was extremely happy with his new look. Maybe these photos will give some of you out there an idea on how to make your kit better or to buy a kit because you wanted one, but want to keep a look you have in mind. If anyone wants decals like you see in the photos but can not get any in your area let me know and I can help you out with any color you want

I wouldn't mind some SOLAS tape. Just wonder how that would look at night.

I bought mine from Laminex about $25+

I understand your concern about visibility. The Laminex adds some protection to boot! I have noticed police officers behind me at stop lights several times and they have made no mention.

hello guys, the EB/S looks cool to me. I like the darker look. I have the aero grill on my dark silver MCS and after debating the look over and over with the Wifey, just painted the intercooler scoop black, its a Krinkle coat paint. I was worried it might be to shiny, but it came out pretty good and evenly Krinkled:smile: I can imagine a black scoop on that EB MINI looking very cool. take care. Imagine black powder coated rims too!

Great idea Chad. However, I would have them make it another 2% larger to bring the decal to the edge so you don't see the surface change....my 3 cents LOL...

It’s funny how it looks in the photos, because the decals actually start to radius out of the pocket. They look good up close and when I pass you.
