I don't have a source for the triangle. But, do you have a source for the brackets?

Not on any US spec MINI I've seen. There are bumps in the cover which correspond to the mounting holes on the brackets. However, I have been unable to locate a source for the triangle (in its case) or the actual brackets to hold it there.

I ordered the brackets and the triangle when I picked up my car at Braman MINI of Miami. The brackets came, but the triangle did not. I was told it is not authorized for stateside sale. I have the brackets sitting in a toolbox waiting for a triangle to be found.

The triangle is actually kind of heavy hanging under the boot cover. I'm glad mine hasn't came loose. I read some where that the triangle doesn't meet DOT standards, that's why it's not available here in the states.

sorry, wrong message.....

Here in the U.S. a triangle means a slow moving vehicle like a tractor on the road. My diesel tactor has one permanently affixed to the rear. In Europe, a triangle is a symbol of a breakdown, and a vehicle that is not moving. I suppose the theory is that when you get the spare tire, you open the hatch, and the triangle hangs down while you jack up the car and change the tire. A U.S. triangle is yellow and black, while the European one looks to be red and black.

I assume that showing a triangle on a non-moving vehicle might be an offense in some states.

Joedentist, the triangle is just stored in the boot. If needed you unfold it to make a triangle and place it several feet behind your vehicle on the ground to warn oncoming traffic your there. They are used in the U.S., I've seen them on the side of the road with broken down big trucks.

Yes, like those. I would like to have the MINI one though. It would fit in the brackets and mount up under the package shelf as intended. Anyone have a source for US residents? Anybody overseas willing to mail me one?

I found a place in England that you can get the warning triangle from, but it is expensive. When I bought it was 13.62 pounds and shipping wasn't cheap either. 25 pounds. I also bought the first aid kit (17.02 pounds). With the exchange rate it was almost $100! But well worth it to have the official triangle and first aid kit! Also, you may be able to pick up a cheaper triangle here in the US, but it will not have the case that will fit the brackets. BTW, I bought the brackets and screws from Classic.

The website for the triangle is www.minisport.com

I just checked the website and I could not find the triangle or the first aid kit, you may want to email them to see if they still carry them.
