Race Seats

Looking for some personal opinions on some race seats. I want to shave some more weight off my car, and one way I was told is by ditching the heavy stock seats. I have been looking at Corbeau seats as they seem to be rated pretty well, and also are affordable, including the extra rails as they come with sliders. What do you guys that hit the track and DD your car prefer? Fixed back, or adjustable? I was looking at the Forza fixed back, or the A4 sport reclining. The Mini is occasionally my DD during the summer, but more often then not I only take it out when I break free and drive it a little rough on the back roads. I haven't tracked it yet, but I feel like that may happen this year for the first time so I just want to be prepared. Ive already got a rear seat delete to shed some weight, and also running Konig Feathers with Bridgestone Potenza tires to drop some more rotating mass on the corners. Besides that, Ive got a DDM intake with a silicon hose, and it had a Magnaflow cat back on it when I bought it. Planning on a 16% pulley, and an ATI damper soon just for peace of mind. Thanks in advance guys, and I look forward to chatting with some of you about this.

ive seen quite a few seat swaps, and ultimately I will need to do it as well, but I need to make sure mine has seat heaters like the stock, and corbeau is actually one of the companies that will add them. some obstacles are the side air bags in the seat and the sliders.... then obviously the weight sensor for the air bag system

I suppose it would be nice to find a DIY or install guide for doing seats at some point. I wonder if Pelican Parts could do one? I didn't think about all the sensor stuff, so hopefully someone has some input on all of that. I am not in need of heaters so thats a plus for me.

Some one on here had a write up for making a plug in resistor pill that keeps the air bag light from coming on. It makes the car believe that the airbags are still installed in the seat.

You can add a heated seat option to some companies when purchasing seats. At the old shop I worked at a gentlemen still wanted this option, which were added for an extra fee. I think they were Corbeau. http://corbeau.com/catalog/product/v...8/category/63/

I still run stock-ish seats in my car and I race often. When I do purchase a seat I'll most likely look into the Evo series from Sparco. Have a lot of friends that run this seat in particular. I'll most likely go this route once the car is truly dedicated to the track. What you want/need depends on what you feel like you'd be most comfortable for what you use it for mostly. If it's the occasional track day and mostly DD driving, and you want an upgraded seat to help keep you in your seat when going around corners, I'd probably get a recliner so you have the use of adjusting your seat.

We most likely wont do an article for this unless we got seats to use for it. Maybe in the future though.

He just doesn't have the pads fitted to the seat on for the pic.

OT : But hey - I'm definitely interested in information on that extended shifter... not looking at one quite that long but the Fastline Performance shifter in my Civic makes me want one in my MINI.

I am curious which hub you're using to utilize an aftermarket steering wheel. Any info is appreciated on that. Wanting to switch mine out as I don't utilize any of the controls as it is.

I have a B&M short shifter with a threaded end, I have a few different sized (SICKSPEED) extenders, the Thread pitch is 12x1.25 to work with the B&M.

Here a pic of my old civic around 2009. Made the mini feel like a SUV.
