Hi, I am new here. I just got an 03 Pepper White Mini Cooper. I have been a honda freak forever. I have had two Integra GSR's and both have gotten wrecked once my fault and the other not.

I am looking for the cowl vent Scoops to replace the factory black ones right underneath the front windshield. I am also wanting to get rid of my stock front chrome gill and under grill and replace with a black grill, just like the MCS. I can't find these anywhere online. Can you guys please help!!

You can get the aerokit grille pieces from your dealer.

 

Zamirz-- Thank you. I thought that maybe the cooper S grille was a different size. I will definitely go ask then.

From my research you can get vent scoops from two sources:

BFP has scoops that appear to be molded in either black or deep charcoal gray (hard to tell from the photo). They also appear to replace the entire stock vent (screen and pollen filter and all).

Oriciari also has vents as part of their more radical, steroid-injected aero kit. The Oriciari scoops come in white. This would probably be fine on its own if you had a white top and mirror caps, otherwise you probably have to paint them. I think the Oriciari vent covers fit over the stock ones but I am not sure. Anyone else know?

I am considering the BFP units myself so I don't need to fuss with painting.

If you have an '03 Cooper then you probably do have a 4-slat grill with is different from the 3-slat grill which is found on MCSs and now, as of '05, on all Coopers, too. Not sure what the best way to make it black would be. An aero kit grill would be a black mesh/honeycomb, not slats...which may work for you. Keep in mind that the MINI One (not sold in the US) does come standard with a black grill regardless of body color and, except from '05 on, also have a 4-slat grill. Maybe a dealer could order a kit for you?!?!?!?!

But those scoops aren't the ones that I am looking for. I saw them on a past thread in this forum, some one had just put them on had them painted yellow. I don't remember the thread, but the scoops shown in those pics are the ones I want. They are direct replcements to the stock ones. Let me see if I can find that thread again.

I also don't like the slats. I am looking for a black grill that preferably doesn't have slats but whatever I can come accross. I just don't like alot of chrome and I am trying to get rid of that gigantic chrome grill.

Yes, those are them D1JL!! How do I go about getting those, I can't find them anywhere. I want to get them painted to match my car. It would be greatly appreciated if you wouldn't mind letting me know where I can get those. Thanks.

 

Here are a few shots of the BFP scoops on my car during a movie shoot this past weekend. The really don't feature the scoops themselves but it might give you an idea. I will try to take better shots of the scoops in the next day or so.

I love your car, nice and simple. What kind of front bumper do you have? Is it a whole kit that comes with the aero grille. I love it. I have a MC and not a MCS, could I use the same kit? Do you know where I can get those vent scoops too?

To answer both of your questions I can say they were easy to install but i was not happy with the wrinkle finish even after painting them body color. After some discussion with BFP they are going to now make them with a smooth outer finish which I think will look a lot better. They will be available after the SEMA show which takes place next week. They will be available thru Ben Fer Performance Products http://www.benferperformance.com/main.pl. I like the looks of the other set as shown on the blue car but in this case I will go for function over form as the BFP appear to be a lot more effective in capturing on rushing air.
As for the grills on my car those are our ( M7 ) products and will only be available for the MCS at this time with the stock, non aero kit, front end. They will be available as individual items.The upper two are still in the prototype stage but the lower one as well as the two for the lower rear bumper are available now in black and silver powder coat.

I personally like the BenFer cowl vents better in both form and function. They give the mini a more aggressive look, which IMO is never a bad thing. I like the grilles, Randy do you have any info as to how much they will cost?
