San Fran/Bay Area recommended paint shop for aero kit??
Hello All,
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a paint shop in the San Fran Bay Area ( I live in Mountain View) that will do a great job painting an aero kit. I have an IB Cooper S and have been eyeing the Aero kit for a while now but have debated whether to buy the pre-painted kit from Mini, best looking for the black molding, verses having a shop try to match everything up??
Anybody’s input would be nice, I know the pro's but $2000 is a lot considering I don't even want to install the rear part of the body kit. I plan on installing the kit myself so it's just a good paint shop I need. Any personal recommendations would be great!!
Thanks in advance

I had some interior parts painted at Classic Car Collision and Repair in Redwood City.
The price was very reasonable and they did a nice job. They do BMW repair and matched the color exactly and use the same paint as the factory. I knew I found the right place after going to several other shops in the area when I saw that had a new Alpina in the shop for some custom paint as well as when the owner offered a tour of the shop and was really proud of all of the painting areas. They have all of the latest in paint mixing tools as well as clean room quality painting areas. I also learned that the paint code number listed on the car (895/6) showed that not only was the paint BRG but was the 6 variant of this color and that there are 11 variants of BRG. This should tell you that they can match the color of your car exactly.

I know this is a hike for you, but Haws Import Auto Body in Concord does great work. They take care of all the BMWs in the area and when I had work done there was 6 Minis on the lot. Some cars come from as far as Martinez. They've done numerous aero kits( including mine), they guarantee their work and their color match is perfect. They're usually really busy so if you're in a rush, they won't be a good option. I had to wait 2 weeks before I could get in... but it was worth it.

I get all my work done at Bay Area Customs in San Jose. They do dealership work and also paint hotrods and customs. He smoothed and painted all my black trim, mirrors and grills and painted them body color and they look factory. He also lightly tinted my brake lights, running lights, 3rd brake light and the reverse light. Looks killer and they are light enough where the police won't mess with you. Talk to the owner Trent and tell him Sean sent ya. The number is 408-979-9715. www.bayareacustoms.com

I don't know if it's because it's IB or if they need to sell what they have given IB's not a color choice but I'm not waiting anymore, the price was right!!!!
