Interior/Exterior UK Hazard Triangle: Retrofit

UK Hazard Triangle: Retrofit
Hi everyone,
I know this isn’t really a “modification” but more of an OEM retrofit. I wanted to share how simple it is and links for anyone looking to perform this retrofit
My MINI is a ‘21 F56 S 2DR
Parts:
The hardest part about this is locating “in-stock” MINI OEM brackets
- MINI parts department and others can order them but they ship from Germany and can take about a month
- MINI: 51497375203
- 2 are required
BMW uses the same bracket but there’s a small alignment tab on the rear of the bracket and they cost more money
- MINI has the tab horizontally
- BMW has the tab vertically
- BMW: 51497167548
- 2 are required
BMW/MINI uses the same part number for the hazard triangle: 71606770487
Some BMW/MINI parts department websites list the part as “no longer available to order”
- If you call sometimes they say “yes, it can be ordered”, “no, it cannot be ordered” or “it’s not compatible”
I ordered the BMW brackets from @ECS Tuning and the hazard triangle from Bimmerworld
- All items were in-stock and shipped out the next day
Install:
Since I went with the BMW brackets I used an X-Acto knife and cut the small alignment tab
- Removed the 2 T-25 torx screws from the trunk lining
- Mounted both brackets using the original screws and fastened the triangle down with the bracket clips

Quick and easy, not more than five minutes and I think it adds just a little more UK to the US MINI
Hope this helps any MINI owner looking to perform this retrofit

@TVPostSound, Now that I know about it I may have to
It would be another great safety item to have in the boot and it doesn’t cost a lot.
@ECSTuning has it in-stock and I have some AMEX points to spare…

@TVPostSound the vest has been purchased
@njaremka it really should say MINI
Update: Here’s another picture of the hazard triangle
If anyone was wondering while driving and going over bumps in the road I don’t hear it making any noises.
