well, I cant say anything but good things about the Alta shifter. Dont think you can use the stock **** with it though.

Try the B&M for the use of the stock ****..
Good stick and it comes with a set of four replacement gearbox bushes.
I won't say more incase someone says I'm biased.

Wait for the b&m, I have the first one to be installed in an 05 car and its a VERY nice part, uses the stock **** ( or whalen if you want )
The part was prototyped on an 04 so it definatly fits 04-05's works flawlessly ! nice tight shifts. I was told they will be shipping by the end of Feb.

Does the B&M shorten the virtical shift area, or just the throws?

Height of the shifter is the same as stock but the trows are noticable shorter and more firm. We did a track day yesterday and it worked flawlessly!
Cant beat the tried and true. In my car if you dont know what to look for you cant tell its not the stock shifter but when you drive the car there is a huge difference.

I'll second the Helix. Shorter, more positive, shifts for $45. What's not to like?

short shifter
Helix 100% great for the price and loving how it performs. I believe it has the shortest throw in the current market. Give Eric a call.
