Hoping to get some help here. After recieving my MCS several weeks ago I noticed that the area behind the handles are body colored paint. Having had our Mini van for 5 yrs now with a similar setup behind its door handles, I wanted a product to protect it as new. Looking on the web I found several offerings for a Chrome Door handle cups, I placed my order with one of the bigger Mini Parts companies commonly referenced on the assorted forums. Much to my surprise on recieving them yesterday in the mail, for upwards of $50 these cups are nothing more than chrome painted / colored ABS Plastic with an preapplied adhesive for fastening. Does anyone know if a real metal or cheaper palstic product are available, or any other suggestions. I feel realy ripped off to pay $50 for a stinken piece of ABS plastic.

Sorry for the rant, but for $50 more I could be well on my way to a pulley mod, which I think is a much better bang for the buck!!!!!!

They do sell clearguard for the door cups. I believe they are about $10. Its the same stuff they use for the front. Try looking at autoclearguard.com, they are a sponsor on this forum. hope this helps

 

I know what you mean. I bought a chrome Speedo ring for my MC for $55 + shipping. The website said the ring was made from aluminum alloy. Wrong!!! It was clearly plastic, even said so on the package. I resent that I had to pay to return this product that wasn't as advertised. I hope you find what you're looking for.
