Wondering if anyone has ordered "Hot Pocket" for their mini. I head mixed reviews on this.
Also would like to get seat covers to protect the seats. Anyone find ones that are a good fit?
I ordered the map light and love it. It really gives more light near the dash.
Got rubber mats and trunk organizer . Want to get either the glove organizer or something for storage for the front.
What other accessories have all you guys ordered ??? Any recommendations?
Thanks
momentum -Picked up my new baby on the dec 20th . Its sweet

I received the Hot Pocket in the mail last week. I haven't been able to bring myself to install it because it is soooooo ugly. I know that it will be semi-hidden, but I can't get over the bad black vinyl and cheap felt that it is made from. It looks like a 7th grade sewing project, not a $25 MINI accessory. It installs with adhesive velcro and all I can think about is how hard it will be to get that sticky stuff off of the plastic. It is a good idea to use the empty space under the toggles for extra storage, but the Hot Pocket needs some improvement.
For additional storage, I ordered a driver's side parcel shelf from the dealer last week. This replaces the knee bolster under the steering wheel.
EDIT> Instead of just complaining about the quality of the hot pocket, I ordered some black/charcoal neoprene so I can make my own.

I have the Cubby Hole Organizer from Moss... While it does provide "storage space" IMO it is way over priced. My total bill was $32.00 for a small very "flimsy" piece of plastic. It fits but IMO doesn't have the same quality/look of the interior, it looks like a K-Mart addon... As for seat covers... I have the Leather upgrade in emerald green and love the way they look and feel I'd never want to cover them up. I guess I feel that seat covers are for when the seats are so torn up and dirty that you have to cover them up. (I have no idea how one would get their seats in that condition) Unless you're looking at a custom leather job for a couple of thousand...then they would prob. be great. Happy Holidays... Paul

Personally, I love my Hotpocket!! Don't worry about attaching it with the sticky velcro. If you ever decide you need to remove it, the velcro will peel off, and only require you to rub some WD-40 or something similar on it to get rid of the sticky. Not unlike the airbag warning sticker. No biggie.
The amount of room it provides for storage is fantastic. What's especially nice, is that it's slighly downhil, so items placed in there STAY in there even when motoring fiercely. Also to note, since the interior is felt (which I love, by the way, keeps down on rattles from items in there) you can put some of the knoby side velcro on the back of your garage door remote and stick it to the inside of the down tube. Very easy access!!!

There is an alternate option on Moss MINI, same price but made of hard plastic, and secures using an existing screw, no messy velcro tape. That's what I'm going to opt for, either that, or by some black mesh plastic and secure it to the fairings on either side. I think that might be a better option as to utilize the entire space. Not to mention it would probably cost about 5 bucks top from Home Depot to furnish something like that.

Yeah, it looks like the hard plastic one on Moss MINI will last longer and looks a little better. But it looks like it sticks up a little to much on the end close to the shift ****. See it here.

Case Logic makes a small neoprene pouch with a flexible hanger. I threaded the hanger between the black and silver dash panels just to the right of the steering wheel. The black neoprene practically disapears so it's very inobtusive and holds my cell phone or Motorola Talk-about very nicely.

I have the Moss unit and it is a VERY OVER PRICED flimsy plastic unit that looks and feels like a K-Mart add-on... It does stick up too high around the existing cig. lighter and cup holders not a real "custom " look by any means... at at $32.00 (including shipping) I think it's "a joke"... Of course that's only my opinion... Happy Hollidays , Paul

Is this part now legally available stateside through the dealers? Last I read it was only available through "special" connections arranged on MINI2 with some fella in Germany? How much did they charge for this part? I was interested, but with the aforementioned arrangements, I think it was a little pricey. Hopefully it'll be more reasonable if we can get it locally.

I installed the "Hot Pocket" yesterday. It's fine. Maybe a little pricey, but the workmanship is OK. And you don't have to use the velcro - it fits nice and snug without using the double sided tape.
I vote "yay" for the Hot Pocket. It works, and it looks OK. Almost factory.
The Glove Box Organizer is cool too. Also installed it yesterday. Pre-Xmas presents for My Sharona!
Next is an Arm Rest!

I think it is cheaper to go through the fella in Germany. Through my dealer, it cost a bit over $100. There were no problems ordering the parts and the parts guy was even a little intrigued about my special project.

Use cooking oil insted of wd-40 the plastic won't soak it up.

I installed the hot pocket and it is great. I have a black interior and the hot pocket fades into the car. The fit is good and the fabric keeps the stuff in it from making noise.
I also got the glove box organizer shelf...it is a must have item also...so much more space in the glove box and everything no longer falling out everytime you open it...
