It must not be too annoying. I know I've started my 05 before putting on the belt and I don't recall ever hearing a chime.
My radio will turn on even if the key is not in the ignition. It shuts off normally when you turn the key to off, then you can pull the key - hit the radio button on and listen away. So, if you don't need the engine idling, there you go!

really? How much does it actually muffle the sound?
I really don't need a car to tell me what to do. I turn my headlights off when i get out of the car and i always wear my seatbelt while driving.
I need to experiment a little more to see when and how it does this.
I took a friend around the block and he didnt wear his belt and the binging kept going on and on. he finally did buckle it and then we both unbuckled and the binging continued after a few moments.
I guess my real question is:
What clip under the seat is for the buckle-engaged sensor?
I'll post that in a new thread to see if i can get some new insight.
Thanks!

ugh...
I thought this was a forum for experimenting and modifing with the interior and exterior of the MC's.
I guess its OK to have 300hp and no catalytic converter, clear tail lights and whatever else people do illegally, but there is no way I should disable my seatbelt "reminder" indicator.
OK, let the flaming begin....

I think I have come to a point in my life where I should be able to make my own decisions on whether or not to wear my seatbelt, I don't need a machine to force me to wear it through a series of anoying chimes. I'm a big boy now lol. Do I wear my seatbelt most of the time? Yes. Do I have it on evey second that I am in motion (including parking lots)? Not always.

It's about the lawyers....
"He wasn't wearing a seat belt"
" His choice"
"but you could have warned him"
" I did.. i put a sign in the car that lites up"
"but he might not have noticed... "
"well.... "
"his perogitive"
"but you should have been more persistant.... my god , man, look at this distraught mother!!! where is your compassion?? !!"
"well we put in a chime!!??.. We made it real annoying..... according to this report, HE DISCONNECTED IT!"...
case dismissed..

ok... here's a report.
I got under the seat with my multitester and...
Can't figure it out. I tried testing continuity with a few of the clips attached to the seat that seemed to run to the seatbelt latch.
The blue one has a spring that shorts the two needle-like prongs inside the clip and always shows continuity while unclipped. I noticed this and was able to temporarily disengage the spring and then proceeded to test for continuity while the buckle was engaged and then disengaged. Nothing.
I tried this tactic to the two black ones and didn't find a difference regardless of when the buckle was engaged and then disengaged.
I though that it possibly just showed resistence in the line when the buckle was engaged but my Ohm-Meter proved that this was not the case.
I'm STUMPED!!! Am I looking in the wrong clips? I was always under the impression that the yellow clips signified an air-bag component so i stayed away from this one, and i also stayed away from the clip that had more than 2 wires in it. Besides, those clips didn't seem to run to the seatbelt latch.
:(

How do cars know the seatbelt is put in? My guess is a button is pushed in, or due to the buckle being metal, it completes a circuit. Maybe there is something inside where you plug the seatbelt in that you can modify and the car will think it is always plugged in.
The only risk is taking apart that part. I'd be afraid of not putting it together correctly, causing a weak point in the seatbelt.
