POLL: Roof Flags......

Ok guys, I just wanted to gauge general opinion about a few of the flags i'm looking at.

I'm looking at these two flags.....

1. St. Georges Cross

2. Union Jack

Tell me what you think!

I have always liked the Union Jack on top of the MINI but it's your car and you should do what you like best.

i saw that MCS in the last issue of gomini and i loved it. the CR one with the st georges cross on the roof. its a simple design, yet it adds so much to the cars appearence.

 I currently have the standard (red/white/blue) Union Jack sunroof flag on Wanda. I'm replacing it with a silver/dark silver/black Union Jack flag this coming week, thanks to Dragonflyer (Aestheticreations), who will meet me at my sister's in Arizona to do it, along with chrome bonnet stripes!

It really depends on your personal taste. I like them both, but am partial to the Union Jack design.

You could start with St. George's and then add the other parts to end up with a full UJ. The Union Jack flag is a combo of St' George's cross and St. Andrew's cross.

Here's mine on the way to a full UJ.

i think Soop3r would look badass if it had black rims with the standard union jack on the roof. but right not i only have the white R83's for now.

BTW, has anyone ever seen a black R83?

i might be having them powdercoated or painted.

I am partial to the St Georges cross - the simplicity of it appeals to me, espdcially with the CR. I think it would be striking!

Either way, it will look great.

Make sure the reds match perfectly....they had to do a bit of work to get IB right. (...but they did!!!) Now, about those mirror caps......

hehe...thats ok, i like the plain mirror caps. it seems like when a flag appears on the mirror caps, it screams tacky....

just my 2 cents

I have the OEM Union Jack flag in my 2 week old '05 CR/W MCS. It looks stunning

I also like the St. George's cross because it is more unique and looks great with the CR/W combo.

I like the Cooperflags decals because they go all the way to the edges, but they are too expensive IMO.

I went with the OEM because the dealer threw the UJ flag as a frebbie!

Are you English or British? If you are American, how about consdiering Ol' Glory for your roof? I understand the appeal of the cross or the jack (then again, you could fly black, red and gold as MINI is owned by Germans) for a British car, but nothing beats American pride.

Graphically, both the Union Jack and St. George's Cross are symmetrical, whereas Old Glory is not. Even though BMW bought the Rover Group, the MINIs ARE still built in the original Mini factory, therefore they are built in the UK, not in Deutschland.

Don't forget the St. Patrick's flag in the Union Jack or you won't have the red diagonals.

The St. George's cross would look great, but be prepared for the ambulance driver comments...seriously.

Hubby and I have been debating what roof graphic to get on ours too. He's always loved the UJ and I'm coming around to the idea after seeing those pics!!!! Anyone have a chili red/white with a furled American flag on it to share?? I want to see how one looks on.

We've been considering a custom graphic too, possibly a couple of chili peppers or Jessica Rabbit from Roger Rabbit - she just screams hottie! Need to find someone to quote me a price - almost scared to ask
